Detailed Care Guide
Washing
Wash cold at 30°C / 86°F
Hot water breaks down elastane fibres and reduces compression performance over time.
Turn garments inside out
Protects the outer surface from pilling and preserves colour vibrancy.
Use a gentle / delicate cycle
Reduces mechanical stress on seams and the fabric structure.
No fabric softener
Fabric softener coats moisture-wicking fibres and eliminates their sweat-management properties within a few washes.
No bleach or optical brighteners
These degrade both the colour and the structural integrity of technical fibres.
Drying
Hang dry where possible
Hang on a rail or over a drying rack. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods, which can fade colours.
Lay flat for compression pieces
Hanging tights or compression shorts by the waistband while wet can cause the waistband to stretch unevenly.
Do not tumble dry
Heat from tumble drying causes elastane fibres to lose their elasticity permanently. Even a low-heat setting will shorten the garment's lifespan significantly.
Do not wring or twist
Gently squeeze excess water instead. Wringing distorts the fabric structure.
Storage
Fold compression pieces — don't hang them
Hanging compression tights and shorts on hangers over long periods causes the waistband to lose tension. Fold and store flat in a drawer instead.
Store in a cool, dry place
Avoid damp gym bags for extended periods. Moisture trapped in fabric can encourage odour-causing bacteria even in odour-resistant fabrics.
Tops and jackets can be hung
Tops, jackets, and non-compression pieces can be stored on hangers without issue.
Don't leave in a gym bag for days
Even antimicrobial fabrics benefit from being aired out after use.
Special Treatments
Silver-ion antimicrobial fabrics
Present in our Performance and Pro lines. Avoid washing with chlorine bleach, which deactivates the silver-ion treatment. Use a sports-specific detergent for best results.
Thermal regulation fabrics (Pro line)
The phase-change material in Pro thermal pieces is embedded in the fibre — not a coating — so it won't wash out. However, washing above 40°C can reduce effectiveness over time.
DWR water-repellent finish
Our running jackets use a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating. This can be refreshed after washing by briefly running a warm iron (not directly on the fabric — use a pressing cloth) or tumbling on a no-heat setting for 10 minutes once every 10–15 washes.
Mesh and perforated panels
Use a mesh laundry bag when washing garments with mesh panels to prevent snagging against zips or velcro on other items.
Understanding Care Labels
Every REVAÍ garment has a care label. Here's what the standard symbols mean.
Tub with water
Machine washable. Number inside = max temperature in °C.
Dripping square
Do not tumble dry. Hang or lay flat to dry.
Square with circle
Tumble dry. An X through it means do not tumble dry.
Triangle
Bleaching guidance. Crossed triangle = no bleach of any kind.
All REVAÍ care labels also include written instructions in English. If a label has worn or faded, refer to this page or contact us at support@revaiactive.com.
